Saint Thomas Aquinas teaches that perseverance is corrupted by two opposing vices: softness that abandons the good and stubbornness that clings to one’s own will. True Catholic manhood is measured neither by dominance nor appearance, but by the strength to remain faithful to God, govern oneself, accept correction, and give one’s life in love.
